Goal: Unknown - possibly head into town of Julian ?!

Morning pack up and on trail by 6:30 AM
Start with a road climb up up up

Cruisey day afterwards - beautiful views of green mountains - can look behind and see where we came from last night.

Trail follows the edge of mountains for a few miles. Some spots are a little sketchy - but safe if you go slow.

Found a nice shady spot for peanut butter snack break and shoes off.

Landscape changing to big boulder mountains and hills.

Eventually made our way down and had a long straight walk to get to the scissors road crossing and under the bridge.

Handful of hikers hanging out to wait out the heat before the climb.

We grabbed a shuttle into the town of Julian about 30 minutes up a windy mountain road for a late lunch.

Stopped at the Julian Beer Company for BBQ and a beer (or two). Delicious!! 🤤

Chatted with Steven a bit and hung out on the patio.

Stopped at Ma’s pie shop for a free slice of pie (complimentary to all PCT hikers). Packed it up to eat on trail.

Shuttled back to the bridge and started the climb up Grape one Mountain at dusk - beautiful sky.

Found a spot for two tents mostly near the top but with some shelter - setup tents and ate pie for dinner.

Time to get ready for bed - chores include but are not limited to: blowing up air mattress, clean feet/face/body, foot care/blister care (my feet are looking pretty sad and gross right now), change into comfy jammies/warmer clothes, reorganize pack, plan out food/snacks/meals for the next day, secure smelly items and food, charge up phone/watch/misc., take notes of day, read, go to sleep…
