Slept in and on trail by 7 AM.
Short rolling uphill hike - Mexico visible in the distance.
Terrain changed drastically to beautiful pine forest with giant pine cones (as big as my hand).

Pine House Cafe for breakfast with a bunch of hikers.
Sat on the patio - Cottonwood tree seeding - puffs floating everywhere - feels like it’s snowing. Beautiful - but also annoying and impossible to keep out of food.

Arnold Palmer, water, side salad, fries and french baguette ham sandwich. Crepe for dessert.

Hung out until noon (waiting for the post office to open) and walked to pickup first resupply box. Sooo much food - likely more than needed.

Repacked bags and headed out of town.

Vista when getting on trail is breathtaking and mind boggling!! Desert mountains as far as the eye can see!

Terrain changing again, fewer palm trees more shrubs. Trail twists and turns with views every so often of the desert mountains. Telescope and towers visible.

Big fat Snake on trail (NOT a rattlesnake) - looks like he just had dinner!🐍

Hiked down and up a valley to another lookout. Hitched a ride to Laguna campground (due to restrictions for camping in next several miles).

First hitchhike on the PCT - rode in the truck bed with our bags and with Paul & Sky.

Hung out with sky at the campground. Made dinner - spicy pasta (made me sniffle and tear up a bit) - delicious!

Feel very fancy having a table to cook/eat at and running water and bathrooms (even if they’re just pit toilets.

Another blister on my right foot this time 🤬
Not sure what’s going on with my feet but they aren’t happy - hopefully all these blisters hurry up and turn into calluses real quick!
